Bexar County
400 Mbps Air Fiber. No contracts. No data caps. Local support you can actually reach.
With its fiercely independent 'Liberty is the Law' spirit and steady growth along the I-35 corridor since incorporating in 2008, Von Ormy is a community that demands reliable internet on its own terms.
Despite proximity to San Antonio, broadband coverage remains patchy and satellite has been the most common solution. STI brings 400 Mbps Air Fiber to Von Ormy for $65/month — ground-based, reliable, and $65/month less than Starlink's 400 Mbps plan.
ZIP code served: 78073
Coverage note: Most 78073 addresses are within STI's coverage area. If you're on a rural route or acreage property away from the I-35 and US-90 corridors, call (830) 429-4149 to confirm line-of-sight before signing up.
Broadband in 78073 is inconsistent — AT&T has some presence along the I-35 frontage but fiber is patchy, wired options thin out away from the highway, and many rural addresses and subdivisions rely on satellite.
The I-35 location is misleading from a broadband perspective. Cable and fiber companies build to population density, and Von Ormy's mix of rural lots, ranch properties, and newer subdivisions doesn't follow that pattern. STI covers exactly this gap: the outskirts of the metro, where the big providers stop but residents still need fast internet.
The $65/month rate is half the price of Starlink's 400 Mbps plan. STI's ground-based fixed wireless keeps latency under 50 ms for video calls and real-time applications.
The town takes its name from Count Norbert von Ormay Auffenberg, an Austrian nobleman who settled at this Medina River crossing in 1886.
When something goes wrong, you call (830) 429-4149 — and you talk to someone who lives and works in South Texas. Not a ticket system. Not an overseas call center. And new customers are installed within one business day.
