Internet in Castroville depends a lot on which street you live on. South Texas Internet serves Castroville and the surrounding Medina County area with 400 Mbps Air Fiber.

Some streets near the historic district have AT&T fiber; many other homes don't, and end up on Starlink, which charges $130/month for its 400 Mbps plan. STI's ground-based Air Fiber is 400 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up for $65/month — no contract, no data caps.

ZIP code served: 78009

Coverage note: STI covers most of ZIP 78009, including many streets fiber hasn't reached. Outlying addresses along FM 471 and outside the city limits depend on line-of-sight to our nearest tower, so call (830) 429-4149 to confirm before scheduling.

If fiber already runs down your street, speed won't be the big difference — STI's edge is no annual contract and no installation fees. If it doesn't, STI is 400 Mbps now, not whenever the fiber truck shows up. With San Antonio about 30 minutes east on US-90, a lot of Castroville residents work hybrid, and 25 Mbps upload is what video calls and VPNs actually run on.

Henri Castro founded the town with Alsatian settlers in 1844, and that heritage still shows in the historic downtown.

When something goes wrong, you call (830) 429-4149 — and you talk to someone who lives and works in South Texas. Not a ticket system. Not an overseas call center. And new customers are installed within one business day.

Should I choose STI if fiber is available on my street?

How much does internet cost in Castroville, TX?

How is Air Fiber different from satellite internet in Castroville?

Air Fiber comes from a ground-based tower here in South Texas, not a satellite in orbit. Many Medina County households compare it with Starlink, whose 400 Mbps plan is $130/month; STI is $65/month with 25 Mbps upload for video calls and remote work — $780/year less than Starlink's 400 Mbps plan.
