Medina County
400 Mbps Air Fiber. No contracts. No data caps. Local support you can actually reach.
Getting reliable internet in Mico is harder than it should be. South Texas Internet serves this Medina County community near Medina Lake with ground-based Air Fiber.
The hills around Medina Lake and heavy tree cover create dead zones for satellite, and many residents see their dish drop out under the canopy. STI's signal comes from a nearby tower instead of the sky: 400 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up for $65/month, with no contract and no data caps.
ZIP code served: 78056
Coverage note: Line-of-sight in the hills around the lake varies more than anywhere else we serve. Call (830) 429-4149 before scheduling — we'll look at your specific property and tell you honestly whether an install is feasible.
Because Air Fiber arrives from a tower on the horizon rather than from overhead, hills and trees are a different problem than they are for satellite, and our installers work around them with antenna placement and mounting height. Many Mico addresses that struggled with satellite work well on STI.
More lake homes around Mico are being lived in year-round, and San Antonio is about 45 minutes away — close enough for hybrid work, as long as the connection holds up.
When something goes wrong, you call (830) 429-4149 — and you talk to someone who lives and works in South Texas. Not a ticket system. Not an overseas call center. And new customers are installed within one business day.

Yes. STI serves Mico (ZIP 78056) and the Medina Lake area with Air Fiber fixed wireless. Terrain and tree cover vary from lot to lot, so call (830) 429-4149 with your address and we'll check line-of-sight before scheduling.
Often, yes. Satellite needs a clear view of the sky; Air Fiber needs a line to a nearby tower, which installers can usually find with the right antenna placement and height. We'll tell you honestly if your property isn't a fit.
One plan, one price: Velocity 400 is $65/month flat for 400 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload. No contracts, no data caps, no setup fees, and taxes are included.
Air Fiber comes from a ground-based tower here in South Texas, not a satellite in orbit. Many Medina County households compare it with Starlink, whose 400 Mbps plan is $130/month; STI is $65/month with 25 Mbps upload for video calls and remote work — $780/year less than Starlink's 400 Mbps plan.
